I been in digital marketing and SEO for nearly two decades. In that time, I have helped many global and local brands to success. Yet, I never thought myself as special, just diligent. That diligent turns out be key to learning this mad and rapidly changing world of digital marketing.
Like other digital marketers I was on the lookout for all the new knowledge I could find. Then I realized, there was nothing new or even old to be found in SEO (and GEO). What I often found in SEO and GEO was opinions. Many of those opinion I struggle to make them fit together, despite nearly two decades of highest level of success.
Fortunately, that wasn't all of them. There were a few genuinely good work that made sense out there. There were great scientific and knowledge sharing works and books. But if they worked, everyone who read them would have success. That wasn't the reality. People who read those books end up in online discussion asking old questions already outdated. Clearly it didn't work for everyone. Something was wrong.
Nobody talked about skills. People read books and and article in hopes that somehow help sharpen the skills they need. We all know to do anything well you need to be skilled at it. Reading sports books doesn't make us great sports players.
And so, I set out to write such a book. This book project has been by far the most intellectually challenging I have ever done. But I believe this book needs to exist!
